Gary Installed new Tires on his 18 inch Jet Band Saw

Installing these tires on ths band saw is one of the bigest struggles in my life. Required super strength and a special technique. This is the third set. I had to boil the belts in water to soften to allow me to install them.

A piece of mesquite got me yesterday off the band saw

I was relying on push sticks and that was not enough. I have a device I can tie the wood on and I will use that in the future and wear gloves. It was an end cut. This mesquite wood is so hard, the end cut is not possible unless securely tied to a device. Side cuts, I always use the device to secure the piece I am cutting on the bandsaw.

Tried a new technique with these bowls that did not work out well. I tried to do them in mass a step at a time. This resulted in excessive cracking. Also, had the chuck inside the back of the bowls while turning the front. This resulte in one bowl with a large separation which I repaired and yet does not look good. So, I like trying new wood turning techniques and will go back to proven success actions for bowls. Three of the bowls are going to the thrift shop. Gary
