Walnut Vase May 2014

This is a Walnut vase  I made in May 2014.  The brown, black spots are part of the tree.  I did not add it in.  Hollowing is very time consuming and labor intensive.

Acacia Bowl with Danish Oil finish

This is an Acacia wood bowl made for my neighbor.  April 25, 2014. 

March 2014; A small sycamore bowl and two small square edge plates.

I attended a new wood turners group meeting called the Bay Area Wood Turners (Pleasant Hill) yesterday.  They had a all day session with one of the world’s best wood turners, artists making demonstrations (David Ellsworth).  He demonstrated a bowl, hollow form.  I have his book, DVD and had attended a previous class he gave to my old wood turning group, the Inland Wood Turners.  I joined the Bay Area Wood Turners group (they have frequent demonstrations) and now will be attending two different group meetings each month.
