I just finished a small vase seven inches by 4 1/2 inches.  It is made of unknown firewood.  

Ring Holder

This is a ring holder I made inspired by a plan by Bob Rosand in the American Woodturner magazine.  It is 5 1/2 inches by 5 inches.  The wood base is of unknown type and the stem is from a piece of acacia.  The finish is is triple E Ultra Shine and Shellawax.  

Linda designed this vase by drawing it out on a piece of paper.  I turned it per the design.  It is made of wet carob wood 4 inches by 11 inches.  It has been drilled out in the middle with three different size holes.  

I made this 11 by 2 3/4 inch vase with glass insert yesterday of Carob.  I bought the carob wood at the wood turners recent Christmas party.  I liked the look so much that I did not have the heart to put additional design features into it.  

Obtained some acacia  wood in Oakland on Saturday.  I received a wood available alert from the Bay Area Wood Turners on Friday and picked these two pieces up on Saturday.  These pieces of wood were too heavy for me and I put them in the trunk of my car anyway.  My hernias and back hurt as a result.

Made a 10 inch tall dry flower vase for Linda.  It is raffle wood which you can see has a lot of interesting figuring, bug holes, etc.  It will be interesting to see what flowers Linda puts into it.

I completed five new bowls after months of roughing out, drying and finishing this week.  They are made from maple, camphor and locus.  One of the maple ones has a coral inlay.  

I just completed this Chinese Tallow wood 10 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch bowl.  I engraved dragon flies in it.  I also embedded  coper metal into the cracks that had appeared in the wood.  I finished it with CA glue on its exterior.  Linda's favorite flying objects are dragon flies.  I tried to draw a good variety of them in the bowl.
